How Can Depression Be Cured?

How can depression be cured? This was my question when a friend of mine kept on talking about his sibling who had depression. I thought, perhaps there is an easy cure for this.

Depression is one of the most harmful mental disorders because it basically affects all aspects of life including social, emotional and physical. There are actually many other things that can happen when depression is not prevented or cured. Thus, the medical community has been in search of the treatment for so long, but there are disputes, disagreements and even legal cases involving such treatments.

While depression is actually diagnosed early on, as early as the 18th century, the treatment is taking a back seat at discovery. The treatment options are varied; these have ranged from electrotherapy to lobotomy, from tranquilizers to several different tablets and capsules, the share of social activities to relieve depression is also varied. However, depression treatment could very well be a different cup of tea for every individual.

Everybody is looking for the treatment in their own way. Families are always on the lookout for an alternative way to treat depression for their loved one. In several studies, most have a common goal of at least having their family member to function at home and fend for themselves; while some are still looking forward to have such member to work and live normally again. With the various ways of treatment, how can depression be cured?

Curing a depressed person is hardly a case of prescription and rest. It is a combination of social activities, mental rest and physical care. However, one of the newer studies suggest that the nutrition of a person could very well contribute to lifting a person’s depression. The proper balance of vitamins and minerals could be a key to how the depression can actually be controlled and eventually lifted.

There is no doubt that tranquilizers and other medicines have a way of making sure that depressed people are controlled. However, the path towards full recovery is somehow curtailed by some unlinked path. On the contrary, there are some alternative ways that depression is somehow lifted for some to work normally.

One of the most important discoveries is vitamin therapy. One of the components of Vitamin B called Niacin is said to have a full impact on the mood of a person. Thus, this impact leads to eventually checking the relationship of Niacin with depression. Depression is said to have a positive response to higher dosage of Niacin. When there is a high dose of Niacin in a person’s body, already depressed people may already have uplifted mood.

A non-depressed person may only have say, 25 mg of Niacin that is enough for normal function. However, 10,000 mg of Niacin may be consumed by a depressed person for him or her to go about their daily functions. This spells a great difference in the intake level; however, many are concerned about overdose of such vitamin.

Overdose of Niacin is unlikely, there is actually a zero death per year average in the course of fifteen years; thus, the answer for “how can depressions be cured?” is farther away from harmful chemical but is actually near healthy and naturally occurring vitamins.

Here’s a video I have seen in youtube:
